World Earth Day: Celebrating Sustainable Brands

World Earth Day: Celebrating Sustainable Brands

April 22nd 2025 is World Earth Day! World Earth Day serves as a reminder of the importance of protecting nature, reducing pollution, and fighting climate change.

Each year, Earth Day has a different theme, focusing on environmental challenges, and this year's theme is 'Our Power, Our Planet'. This theme focuses on supporting renewable energy sources for a more sustainable, equitable future.

Here at McElhinneys, we stock a huge range of brands that pride themselves on being eco-friendly and focus a huge portion of their business on supporting and protecting our planet.

Here are just a few of the environmentally conscious brands we stock that you can support this Earth Day.

1. Selected Femme

Selected Femme not only make beautiful clothing but they also support sustainable practices.

They have made efforts towards sustainability by using eco-friendly materials and fibers that reduce waste, water usage, and emissions.

They promote creating long-lasting products and support recycling and restoring old clothing to encourage a circular economy.

2. Clarins

Clarins is one of the leading brands in the beauty industry, and they have also implemented several sustainability initiatives.

Some of these initiatives include renewable energy usage, sustainable packaging goals, eco-friendly distribution and responsible ingredient sourcing.

3. White Stuff

White Stuff is a UK fashion brand known for its high-quality, contemporary clothing.

As of 2025, White Stuff have been recognised as the UK's largest fashion retailer of Fairtrade Sourced Cotton, demonstrating their commitment to ethical sourcing.

The brand also recycles waste from its offices, shops and distribution centres and uses recycled materials for its packaging.

The brand sources its seaweed sustainably, hand-harvesting it from the coast of Ireland using traditional methods that protect the marine environment.

Voya products are eco-certified, and the brand's packaging is recycled and biodegradable.

DID YOU KNOW?

Here at McElhinneys, we are keen to take greater steps to encourage sustainable practices by making greener choices to future-proof our own business.

With that in mind, we have installed solar panels on the roof of our main building to harness energy for electricity usage to power our store, which also helps to reduce carbon emissions for our business.

Happy Earth Day!

Until next time,

Amy
