New Year’s Resolutions – Love them, hate them, or just DO them?

New Year’s Resolutions – Love them, hate them, or just DO them?

New Year’s Resolutions are losing popularity, and fast – but there is something special about ringing in the New Year and pledging to make a change, however small or large, to make a difference to your life as you start a new chapter!

.

Whether you love them, hate them, or just make change whenever you think you need to and don’t wait til New Years, just remember that no goal is too small (in fact, you’re more likely to stick to a resolution if the change is small or incremental!). If you’re looking to make a change, but can’t decide what to try, here are 5 Common New Year’s Resolutions, and a couple things that might help you on your journey!

5 Common New Year’s Resolutions

.

  1. Travel to a New Place

.

Travelling and learning new cultures broadens the mind, so take some time in 2018 to really think about where you would like to travel to and why? Once you’ve settled on a place, book it and plan your itinerary to make the most of your trip. Make sure to research the culture, the language, the currency and the weather to make sure you have all the essential information! When your trip comes around, be sure you’re ready with a good suitcase, like this one from Samsonite which is perfect for hand-luggage, and has plenty pockets for east access to essentials like documents and liquids. Make sure you can identify your case with this Voyage Floral Passport cover and matching luggage tag – practical and stylish!

  1. Get Fit and/or Lose Some Weight

.

Fitness & Weight Loss is a common goal for a lot of people entering the New Year, be sure to put your best foot forward and have the correct clothing and equipment to help on this journey. We have a range of Men’s & Women’s sports clothing including Superdry, O’Neill’s and The North Face. Finally, we recommend all the ladies out there to invest in a good sports bra! This Panache Sports Bra reduces bounce by 83%, and is made from a lightweight breathable material – perfect for your workouts!

  1. Eat Healthier and Learn to Cook

.

Eating healthy can mean the smallest changes – be it to simply walk past the sweets aisle, don’t take the last chocolate digestive, skip that evening cup of coffee, or just pick up a piece of fruit – the key to healthy eating is to make those small, incremental changes which will build up over time! We have a great range of Kitchenware, including this Tower Extreme Pro-Multi Blender that can whip up a mean smoothie for the ultimate morning boost – it is the easiest way to squeeze in your five-a-day! Ditch those microwave meals and takeaways and combat the kitchen with this Tefal Cook 4 Me Multicooker for fast and fresh meals, even the most novice chef can cook up a storm! There are 100 pre-programmed homemade recipes you can chose from, simply prepare the ingredients and the Multicooker does all the work! Finally, this Spiralizer from Kitchen Craft is a great addition to any kitchen, creating thin, continuous spiral strands of vegetables. Great to brighten up salads, or even to use as an alternative to pasta or spaghetti!

  1. Get More Sleep (or Improve the Quality of your Current Sleep!)

.

Sleep is so important for your body and mind to function properly – so do yourself a favour, put the phone away and enjoy more blissful down-time. Adequate sleep, not only makes you feel better, is a key part of a healthy lifestyle – the recommended duration of sleep is 8 hours, but this can depend on age and other factors. Take good care of yourself and create a good sleep environment with a proper mattress and pillows (and clean them regularly!).

  1. Get Organised!

.

Start the Spring Cleaning now and get yourself organised and tidied up for the New Year – clear the clutter and give your house a refresh which can help you become less stressed, more productive, and lift your mood! The best way (in my opinion) to get yourself organised is to make some lists! To-do lists can break down huge tasks into smaller, more manageable chunks – for example don’t list ‘Clean the house’, break it down into each room, and each individual task that you want to get done. The satisfaction of ticking stuff off your list should help propel you to finish what you start! A good notebook is the perfect place to jot down what needs to be done, like this Peter Pauper Journal.

To have a new goal for 2018 is setting a challenge for yourself – be it to eat healthier, get fitter, loose weight, stop a bad habit or start a good one – so get your thinking cap on, and take on the challenge of setting yourself a New Year’s Resolution!
