Supporting Irish businesses is rooted in our ethos here at McElhinneys, and we care deeply about celebrating our proud country's rich history and culture through the unique Irish brands we offer our customers.

As a very proud family-run Irish brand ourselves, McElhinneys has always been keen to showcase the best of Irish talent through our product offerings across our departments.

From homeware to cosmetics, we are thrilled to have a blend of a variety of uniquely Irish brands available at McElhinneys, and this month, we would like to showcase some of our favourites!

From iconic names to emerging artisans, heritage-led design is meaningful and fosters a sense of pride in Irish craftsmanship. Read on to discover the leading Irish brands available in-store and online.

 

Wild Goose Studio


Wild Goose Studio, based in Kinsale, Co. Cork, is a family-run business established in 1970 that creates handcrafted, cold-cast bronze and iron gifts.

Founded by Kathleen Smyth and Brian Scott-McCarthy, they specialise in items inspired by Irish heritage, Celtic mythology, and contemporary art.


McNutt of Donegal

 


McNutt of Donegal, a renowned family-owned Irish weaving mill based in Downings, Co. Donegal, was first established in 1953.

McNutt specialises in high-quality wool and linen homeware, soft furnishings and home accessories.

Known for blending traditional craftsmanship with modern designs inspired by the rugged landscapes in the North West of Donegal, they produce luxury throws, scarves, cushions, and tweed.


Newbridge Silverware

 


Newbridge Silverware, established in 1934 in County Kildare, is a premier designer and manufacturer of high-quality cutlery, jewellery, and giftware.

Renowned for its blend of traditional craftsmanship and modern technology, the brand is a staple in Irish homes and a globally known jewellery and giftware designer.


 

Ella & Jo

 

Founded in County Mayo, by beauty professionals Charlene Flanagan and Niamh Ryan, Ella & Jo Cosmetics is fast becoming one of the most talked-about Irish skincare brands around.

With their science-led approach to gentle skincare, the Ella & Jo collection started out with a brush cleaner and has grown into a full range of cleansers and skincare essentials.


Max Benjamin 

 

Max Benjamin is an Irish family-owned home fragrance studio which was founded in 1996 by Orla Van den Bergh.

The brand is based in the Glencree Valley of the Wicklow Mountains and is named after founder Orla's twin sons, Max and Ben.

The candles' range is crafted using 100% natural wax (a blend of soy, coconut, and other plant-based waxes) with lead-free Italian cotton wicks for a clean, soot-free burn.

 

Waterford Crystal



Waterford Crystal is an iconic Irish luxury brand world-renowned for its high-quality, hand-cut crystal glassware and decorative art.

Originally established in 1783, the history company still operates a major manufacturing and visitor facility in the heart of Waterford City.

Inspired by our heritage, the Katie Hannah by McElhinneys collection of luxury candles and reed diffusers is named after the late mothers of our founder and CEO, John and his wife Eileen.
