Unique Anniversary Gift Ideas For Each Year

Unique Anniversary Gift Ideas For Each Year

Whether it's your first Anniversary, or your 50th - finding the perfect gift for your loved one can be tricky. Do you stick with a traditional choice? Do you buy them something they need? Something they want but wouldn't buy themselves? Or do you follow the traditional Anniversary 'themes'?

Whatever you decide to do, there is nothing better than receiving a thoughtful gift from someone you love, or a handwritten card with a sweet message. If you're a man or woman of tradition, here's a guide to the typical Anniversary gifts for each year from 1-10.

1st Anniversary: Paper

.

A beautiful journal from Peter Pauper would make a beautiful gift, and with lots of styles available there are tons to choose from.

For something a little different I chose this Light Up Fairy House, made from heavy duty paper it is certainly a unique and memorable choice!

2nd Anniversary: Cotton

For Cotton I've chosen this beautiful 100% Cotton Duvet Cover, and this 100% Cotton shirt from GANT for the man in your life.

3rd Anniversary: Leather

There are tons of great options for Leather - you could spend all day looking! I've decided to go for the classics, a gorgeous Hugo Boss Leather Belt, a Michael Kors handbag and a leather strap watch from TWLV.

4th Anniversary: Fruit/Flowers

.

Flowers/Fruit again can be interpreted in so many ways, for this gift I went for a fragrance for her and for him - both boasting citrus smells, and for her also a hint of flowers - the perfect combo!

5th Anniversary: Wood

For the Wooden Anniversary I chose a literal wooden gift, a beautiful cheese board from Newbridge. Secondly I chose a Cracking Woodfire candle from Newbridge to invoke the smell of Wood. Lastly I chose a Treehouse lamp from Genesis - a metaphorical wooden gift!

6th Anniversary: Sugar

Sugar was a harder one I'll admit, but I found these two great options. The first is a sugar and creamer crystal set from Killarney Crystal.

Secondly I found this beautiful Alex & Ani Swarovski Crystal Sugarplum bangle (hey, this may be cheating but it's a great gift!).

7th Anniversary: Wool

For woollen gifts I've picked out something for her, something for him and something for them both!

A beautiful woollen and cashmere coat from Christina Felix, a gorgeous wool jumper from Farah, and a Throw from McNutt of Donegal.

8th Anniversary: Bronze

I've chosen two pieces from Genesis to represent bronze - the gorgeous cross made from sculpted Bronze, and the couple embracing also made from Bronze.

The third choice is stunning sapphire shaped bronze coloured statement earrings from Coeur de Lion.

9th Anniversary: Pottery/Willow

For the 9th Anniversary Gift I've chosen two pieces one to represent each. The first is a stoneware teapot from Tara Pottery (maybe cheating, but I just call it a creative solution).

My second choice is this beautiful Sweetheart figurine from Willow Tree (also a creative solution.. but still great gifts!).

10th Anniversary: Tin

For tin, you could have a lot of fun with this one - I've went for a gorgeous gift, this cute Tommy Hilfiger 4-pack sock tin. Secondly the Kitchen Craft cake tin, which I think would be a great gift, especially if cake was included!

Hope you enjoyed our gift round-up - maybe you got some ideas, or found inspiration to create your own unique Anniversary gift!
