6 Beauty Trends for Autumn/Winter 2019

6 Beauty Trends for Autumn/Winter 2019

It’s that time of year again where we learn all about the new trends for the Autumn/Winter Season. I’m sure you’ve spotted some of the fabulous beauty looks from the catwalk, so we want to show you how you can achieve the look using some gorgeous new products and makeup bag heroes from the McElhinneys Beauty Hall.

Brow Down

In recent years brows are a constant topic in beauty conversations; are they going to be full or fluffy… we never know from one season to another what to expect! This season the full wild brows are gone, and the more natural groomed brows are back, which compliments the ‘no makeup make-up look’ that was huge last season.

Seen on the runways of Loewe, Chanel & Salvatore Ferragamo, you can achieve this look using brow products from one of our newest ranges, Delilah Cosmetics. Using Delilah Brow Shape, a mini mascara for your brows, you can achieve a tinted yet groomed, natural brow look. Another great option is the Delilah Browline Retractable Pencil, allowing you to add hair-like strokes in sparse areas. Both products come in two shades and are great used alone or together.

The Smokey Eye

Just like a classic red lip, you can never go too far wrong with that classic smokey eye, and this Autumn/Winter it’s all in! From season to season the smokey eye comes in many variations from blues to violets, but this year it’s back to black.

Seen on the runways of Altuzarra, Tom Ford & Longchamp, the inky, smudged out liner look was so popular this year. Every brand offers smokey-eye essentials of kohl pencils and dark shadows, but my Beauty Hall girls are currently loving the Shiseido Microliner Ink in particular. This thin, retractable liner allows you to get right into the last line, and it is long-lasting and easy to blend. It comes in a range of colours, including deep black, brown, violet and even white to make your eyes pop!

Classic Red

Every year, you can guarantee one look will never go out of style, and that is your classic red lip. Each Season brings a slight variation, and this Autumn/Winter the velvety, ultra-matte red is getting all the attention.

As seen at Oscar de la Renta, the blurred red lip was created using two different shades to produce a subtle ombré effect. Find your perfect shade with Estee Lauders new Pure Colour Envy Paint On Liquid Lipcolour, which applies like a gloss but dries in a matte shade. You have 12 gorgeous shades to choose from, and we are loving number 300: Poppy Sauvage to achieve the perfect red lip.

Wellness Skin

As health and wellbeing are at the forefront of the modern age, and rightly so, we can see this reflected in new skincare routines and regimes now too ladies. Glowing, radiant skin is more of a beauty goal than a trend, and we are delighted that the natural beauty boom is back!

As seen at Stella McCartney & Victoria Beckhams shows, there were teams on hand to give models mini facials to create a beautiful glowing look.

If you want to create a home-spa escape, be sure to try the new Plant Gold by Clarins, which is a new 100% natural, nutri-revitalizing skin care range. Also, from Clarins, the new Everlasting Fluid Foundation gives a youthful glow. With a satin finish, 10-hour hold and transfer-proof finish, this foundation conceals imperfections and gives luminosity and radiance to your skin.

Lash Out

It’s all about the big, sparse lashes this Season. As seen at Bradon Maxwell, false lashes and mascara were both used on the top line, and extra lashes drawn on the bottom line to achieve this fuller, larger look. Each brand offers a range of mascaras all catering to your individual lash look, but one classic that never goes out of style is the Clinique High Impact Mascara.

Each brand offers a range of mascaras all catering to your individual lash look, but one classic that never goes out of style is the Clinique High Impact Mascara. This volumizing mascara immediately lengthens and separates each lash, giving you a dramatic eye effect. It is highly pigmented and comes in both waterproof and non-waterproof, as well as two colours of black and black/brown.

Eye Madness

As seen in fashion, the 70’s are, and it is the same in the world of Beauty. If you love to experiment on the eyes, then you will love the smoked out colours and pigments, plus no amount of glitter is too much! This look could be seen at Halpren and Dried Van Noten – both opting for disco vibes for a night on the tiles.
