Breid McDaid:

Hi Everyone,
My name is Breid Mc Daid. I am a 27 year old fashion enthusiast from Creeslough, formerly based in Dublin, recently relocated back home here in Donegal.
Although my background was primaraly in Primary School Teaching, I decided to take a career change, follow my passion and pave some new inroads in the fashion world by obtaining a fashion styling diploma from the L.A. College of Creative Arts, Dublin. Having completed my Fashion Styling and Image Consultancy course under Tutor Clara Halpin, head stylist in Arnotts Department Store, I have earned valuable experience in all areas from editorial to TV styling, fashion marketing, blogging and social media, colour and body shape analysis, including extensive fashion history and future trend forecasting. My studies gained me both academic and practical experience, having assisted backstage at various fashion events, compiled my own fashion portfolio, and networking with a variety of industry insiders.
In the intervening time, I have been eager to build upon my experience and immerse myself in further work in this field. I have been lucky to have worked alongside the incredibly talented Aideen Feely, stylist at VIP Magazine. During this time, I have been afforded the chance to style fashion forward women including Lucy Kennedy, Kathryn Thomas and Vogue Williams, to name but a few. I have also contributed articles as a fashion columnist on Donegal Woman, Donegal’s first online women’s magazine. I thoroughly enjoy writing, particularly when it pertains to fashion.
Your personal style is unique to you, it can be perceived as an extension of your personality. However, the way you dress can have a much more meaningful impact than you might envisage. 'Always dress to be the best version of yourself!' Fashion is fun, it's liberating, and it is part of who we are when we present ourselves to the world every day. Speaking from a personal perspective, the sense of self-worth and confidence that can be achieved from a simple item of clothing, or a certain look, can be oft time, immeasurable. Looking good can often be a catalyst for feeling good. We all have our flaws and as such can frequently be our own worst critic. Personally, making others feel even the slightest bit more comfortable in their own skin would be the jobs greatest reward, and the main reason I can see myself doing this for many years to come.
