Five Steps To The Perfect Christmas Table Setting

Five Steps To The Perfect Christmas Table Setting

With just weeks to go until the big day, now is the time to get prepared for one of the most highly-anticipated meals of the year - Christmas dinner.

If you're struggling to find the perfect pieces to create your ideal setting, don't fret, as we have some easy tips and tricks to make the most of your Christmas table setting this year.

The great thing about your table setting is that it is one Christmas task that can be done the night before, so you won't have to be rushing around looking for the finishing touches just as your guests arrive.

To help you prepare ahead of time this Christmas, here are five simple steps to the perfect table setting:

1.Table Runners

Table runners are a staple of every well put-together table setting, particularly at Christmas.

If you have a particular theme or colour scheme in mind, a table runner is a great way of binding all the elements of your creation together, not to mention, they look fabulous!

This table runner from Walton & Co is ideal for creating a neutral canvas for your table setting, while also having some festive elements.

2. Ornaments

Ornaments are usually a feature on Christmas table settings as they add another element of fun to the display.

Whether you go for winter flowers, Santa figurines or glittering stars, there are plenty of ways to incorporate festive ornaments into your table setting.

This tree ornament from Coach House is a great example of a festive ornament you could use to add some sparkle to your centrepiece for Christmas dinner.

3. Candles

Another staple of a festive table setting are candles. Whether you want to light them for added ambiance or you intend to use them as purely decoration, candles are a gorgeous addition to a table setting at Christmas.

Whether you're going for a tea-light candle display or classic-style tall candles, they can be very effective at setting the atmosphere for dinner.

These glittery red twin pack of tall candles from Kaemingk would be ideal for adding that iconic red Christmas tone to your festive table setting.

4. Glassware & Accessories

It may seem simple, but thinking out your glassware and how you want to display them on your table can really elevate the look of a table setting.

This beautiful wine glasses set from Waterford Crystal would look fabulous in a Christmas table setting, plus they also make an excellent gift!

For an added touch of Christmas sparkle, why not add some fairy lights to some glassware to use as a centrepiece of your Christmas table setting.

5. Cutlery

Finally, we have another important element of table setting - cutlery and crockery.

Whether you're going all out with festive-themed crockery or you want to keep things simple with a classic white theme, layering is a great way of giving a restaurant-feel to your table setting at Christmas.

These plates from Denby are part of the Kiln range, which would look amazing layered together for a Christmas table display.
