SOCIAL MEDIA COORDINATOR

Job description

McElhinneys is seeking a digital content Creator/Coordinator who is passionate about and experienced in social media, fashion, beauty, home interiors, and what’s hot right now!

Based in McElhinneys Department Store, Ballybfoey, Co. Donegal, this full-time role is a brilliant opportunity for someone with a knack for shooting and editing video content, and an eye for creating slick social graphics, and the flare to create engaging social content for an audience on the scroll. You’ll be mainly creating content for Instagram and TikTok followed by Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.

You’ll be working within a fast-paced environment so high energy and forward creative thinking is a must ensuring you bring our customers the latest and most engaging content to keep them entertained and showcase the very best of McElhinney's brand personality.

You’ll work within McElhinney's award-winning marketing and social team to ensure content is on brand and supports the delivery of our social KPIs.

What You'll Do

  • Execute a results-driven social media strategy.
  • Develop and curate engaging content for social media platforms.
  • Work within our marketing team to create and implement commercial social content tracking against KPI’s and budgets
  • Ensuring all content is delivered against social strategy, objectives, and KPIs
  • Community management across McElhinney's social channels - Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube
  • Assist in the creation and editing of written, video, and photo content.
  • Attend events and produce live social media content.
  • Maintain a unified brand voice across different social media channels.
  • Collaborate with our marketing team to create a social media calendar.
  • Monitor social media channels for industry trends and competitor analysis.
  • Review analytics and create reports on key metrics.
  • Assist in the development and management of social media marketing and influencer marketing strategy.
  • Monitoring relevant user-generated content across multiple social channels and identifying opportunities for McElhinneys
  • Coordinate creative sprint think tanks with our marketing and social team.
  • Working with our department managers and buyers to support them in social and digital promotion identifying original content ideas to drive audience engagement, sales, and interaction.

Qualifications/Skills

  • Passion for social media and proficiency with major social media platforms and social media management tools
  • Proficiency with video and photo editing tools, digital media formats (motion graphics would be an advantage)
  • Excellent social listening skills
  • Ability to understand historical, current, and future trends in the digital content and social media space
  • Strong copywriting and copy-editing skills
  • Impeccable time management skills with the ability to multitask
  • Detail-oriented approach with the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • A strong working knowledge of TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook, creating engaging and high performing content
  • A keen interest in fashion, beauty, home interiors
  • Project management
  • A strong understanding of social analytics and reporting
  • Excellent communications skills and relish working as part of a team
  • Prior experience of at least 1-3 years

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or a related field
  • 1-3 years experience with B2C social media marketing or content development
  • Direct experience using social media management tools
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook)
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Premiere Pro) or equivalent digital media editing tools a plus
